We provide a service that connects beta readers to BTS AU writers

How Does the Service Work?
For Writers:
1. Fill out our Writer Sign-Up Form. Be sure to review the information given in the form!
2. Receive a welcome message from the Mod team.
3. Be paired with a beta reader by our Mod team.
For Beta Readers:
1. Fill out our Beta Reader Sign-Up Form. Be sure to review the information given in the form!
2. Receive a welcome message from the Mod team.
3. Receive a request from the Mods; this message will contain information regarding the work that we would like to pair you with. We ask that you respond to this message within 24 hours.
4. Beta read for the writer that you have been paired with!
5. Let us know when you are finished with the pairing!

I’m the social media mod, so when you see the account tweeting, that’s usually me! I also answer all of our CCs, and am responsible for communicating with our fest partners!

You probably haven’t seen much of me around, but that’s because I’m working behind the scenes to organize all the information about our writers and volunteer beta readers! Don’t worry though, your secrets are safe with me :) We use all of this data to match writers and readers based on their timezones, what content they’re comfortable with, as well as their skill sets.
If you ever want or need to make changes to your writer/beta reader profile (adjust ratings, add trigger warnings, etc.), just send the team a DM and ask for me.

FAQ
Q: Is BTS Beta Service open to all fandoms?
A: No, BTS Beta Service is only for writers in the BTS fandom. If you are from another fandom and need a beta reader, you can check out @beta_find on twitter.
Q: Can I submit ANY piece of work and get a beta reader?
A: At the moment, we are only able to provide beta readers for fics.
Q: Does the fic need to be complete before I ask for a beta reader?
A: You can sign up for a beta reader at any stage of the writing process. Beta readers can help with the planning/brainstorming of the initial idea or just reviewing the finished product as well as everything in between.
Q: Can my beta reader work on other works of mine?
A: At the moment, we only assign a beta reader to a writer for one piece of work. If you require other fics to be reviewed, you will need to send through a new request for each fic.
Q: Can I only be a beta reader or a writer?
A: You can sign up to be both!
Q: How many fics can I ask for a beta reader?
A: As many as you like however you will need to submit a separate form for each fic.
Q: How long will it be until I get a beta reader?
A: Matches will be made between writers and beta readers according to the prioritization tracker. Most pairings can be made within a week.
Q: What language fics do you accept?
A: Right now, we only accept fics in English.
Q: What must I do after I finish beta for a fic?
A: Please let us know so that we can close the pairing on our side.
Q: Can I drop out from being a beta reader?
A: Yes you can drop out. If you can avoid dropping out when you’re in the middle of working on a fic, that’d be preferred however we will understand if that’s not the case. Please just let us and your writer know that you are dropping out.
Q: What if I’m going to be busy with school/work/vacation, but I still want to help in the future?
A: Just send us a quick DM! We can flag you as temporarily inactive so that you will not receive any new beta requests until your return.
Q: I’ve already submitted a form to be a beta reader, but I need to make changes. Do I need to submit a new form?
A: Please do NOT submit a new form. Send us a DM instead and ask for mod 🍩 to update your record.
Q: How do you prioritise the requests for a beta reader?
A: We use the traffic light system to prioritize requests. When signing up for a beta reader, the writer will need to select an appropriate rating for the fic
Red - The request is urgent. A match with a beta reader will be made within 2-3 days
Amber - The request does not have a major deadline. A match will be made within 1 week
Green - The request is not urgent. A match with a beta reader will be made within 2-3 weeks (at latest)
